Website & Email

Dines expressed the importance of appearing professional when contacting creatives and discussed the increased level of engagement a person may have if they see an email/web address that is personal to the persons practice. Recognising this in the research carried out, I built a website through square space. This decision was informed by carrying out research into different website builders and through talking to peers. This allows for my work to be quickly up on the web and presented in a clean, working manor. The cost of this is something that has been added to my university budget.

The following domain was purchased: www.kathryn-Brown.com
Due to availability the - allows for the domain to still maintain my full name. I did not want to add ‘design’ or ‘creative’ as I felt this my limit my practice. The following email has also been attached to the domain address, hello@kathryn-brown.com. It is important to reflect my professionalism in this way as through feedback it can increase a persons engagement with the email. This is further reinforced by having the signature at the end of an email. The appropriate links to my website and instagram have been included in this. This has been informed by the research carried out -recognition of this being used by other creatives that I have engaged with over email. Having the links present ensures that the receiver has easy access to my website and other accounts where they can view my work.
